ANSI A10.34 Public Safety

The objective of this 4-hour class is to introduce contractors to the standard and its intention “for use as a guideline to provide protection for the public.” 

This course will cover the following topics and much more.
 

The responsibilities of contractors including development of a Public Hazard Control Plan

  • How to implement the safety performance program on construction projects to provide protection to the public and identifying / correcting deficiencies to eliminate the hazard
  • How to initiate the required responsibilities to respond to public inquiries or complaints related to your construction projects and coordinate with authorities
  • Create awareness and develop prevention of typical construction hazards created regularly on construction sites including:
                        Noise
                        Dust, Fumes, Mists, Smoke and Vapors
                        Traffic Hazards
                        Ionizing and on Nonionizing Radiation Hazards
                        Overhead and Falling Object Hazards
    • Establish security measures to restrict the public from access to jobsites
    • Develop awareness to the requirements and processes for conducting “Accident Investigations”
    • Provide information about responsibilities to repair or replace public areas and structures damaged or disturbed by construction operations
    • Enhance management of B-S-Q-S & P … Budget, Schedule, Quality, Safety, and … People
